Brothers, 99 Leather Lane - Mild Wrap

There was no messing about this week for Falafeloff as we headed straight to the top of Leather Lane to visit this middle eastern heavyweight. This place is well renowned for serving high quality falafel wraps and we were hoping today was no exception. With Al-Kouther currently sitting pretty at the top of the leaderboard, 74.5 was the score to beat.

The staff are always very welcoming and attentive; trying to turn round customers quickly whilst still maintaining a personable service. Brothers isn't a very imaginative name nor is it a hilarious pun like Wrap it Up! so lost a couple of marks there.

Clocking in at £2.50 this has to be one of the biggest bargains on Leather Lane. In addition to the wrap they also sell incredible vegetable bhajis for 50p if you feel that you need a little more sustenance for the afternoon or like us are too greedy to turn down these well priced, deep fried calories.

Now let's move on to the wrap itself...

It is huge and will easily keep hunger at bay until your evening meal. It contains all the contents that we've come to expect to accompany the falafels: tomato, lettuce, red cabbage, hummus etc. For the first time in the competition we were treated to a helping of coleslaw. Whilst this has it's roots in Northern Europe (i.e. not the Middle East) it is delicious so was partly responsible for some of the high score awarded in the taste category. A slight gripe that we had with it was the unequal distribution of falafel meaning that as we got towards the end there was none left. Aesthetically, it was nothing special but certainly not unattractive. Ergonomically, it was a well crafted wrap that held itself together leaving no handmess in its wake.

In conclusion, this is a really tasty, quick, cheap lunch and has nailed our scorecard; ticking the boxes that we value above all others and deservedly knocks Al-Kouther off the top spot.

Score: 77.00

Next up: King of Falafel
